Abstract
Bullying and cyberbullying are problems of scientific and social interest, but research in people with intellectual disability (ID) is very scarce. The aim of this study seeks to answer: (a) What variables have been identified as risk and protective factors? (b) What are the psychological and physical consequences? and (c) what is the response of the victims and the people around them? A comprehensive search of relevant databases included studies in Spanish or English; published between 2007 and April 2019; and with up to 18 years old participants with ID. The search yielded 527 hits. Following the application of explicit inclusion criteria and PRISMA checklist, 37 papers were deemed suitable for the review. The need for further research together with prevention and intervention strategies are highlighted.
