Abstract
Summary
Many people live with extra weight or obesity. Semaglutide is a type of weight loss medication for the treatment of obesity. A study published in 2024 reported on the experiences of people taking semaglutide. People living with obesity who took semaglutide had improvements in their physical, emotional, and social health. Sharing the experiences of people taking weight loss medications may help others make important treatment decisions.
Semaglutide is an approved medication for weight loss. In a recent study, people who lost weight while taking semaglutide had improved physical, mental, and social health.
The goal of this summary is to share the study results in accessible language so that people living with obesity can make informed decisions about whether a medication for weight loss is right for them.
