To augment our previously published spirometry interpretation program for hand-held computers (HHC), we present HHC software that uses both spirometric and lung volume measurements to evaluate obstructive and restrictive lung patterns. The program calculates adult spirometric and lung volume predicted values from anthropometric data, calculates functional residual capacity (FRC) from helium dilution test results, and interprets these data. The software may be modified to become an instructional tool for students of pulmonary function. (Silage DA, Maxwell C. A Lung Volume Determination/Interpretation Program for Hand-Held Computers.
