Abstract
The Editors and Advisory Board members of Natural Product Communications (NPC) are delighted to be able to dedicate a special collection named “Bioactive Natural Products from Terrestrial and Marine Resources, Especially Terpenes, but not Limited to…” of the journal addressed to the internationally renowned natural product scientist, Professor Kemal Hüsnü Can Başer of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Near East University, Nicosia, North Cyprus, for his 70th birthday.
The NPC family joins me in paying tribute to Professor Baser for his outstanding contributions to various aspects of essential oils; he has authored approximately 1200 articles (journals) and 43 books or book chapters. NPC has previously published a themed collection “Recent Advances in Analytical, Biological and Pharmacological Aspects of Essential Oils and Constituents” Natural Product Communications, 5 (9), 1339‐1524 (2010) for his 60th birthday, which was presented to him during the 6th World Congress on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, VI. WOCMAP, November 13‐17, 2019, in Famagusta, North Cyprus.
We are thankful to all contributing authors, reviewers, the production department, and specially to our guest editors Nurhayat Tabanca, Betül Demirci, Fatih Demirci, and Neşe Kırımer, for their kind efforts and support that have made this special collection possible despite the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Professor Başer’s contributions to natural products and, in particular, to essential oil research have led to him being held in the highest esteem worldwide. We all express our appreciation for his excellent contributions and wish him many more healthy years of fruitful scientific research and all the best for his future.
