Abstract
A small qualitative study was conducted to identify in-depth views of three nurse practitioners who work in one unit – two are part-time ‘F’ grades and one is a full-time ‘H’ grade. Data was collected by three semi-structured interviews based on three themes highlighted in the literature. By introducing nurse practitioners, the continuity and quality of patient care will be enhanced, and flexible working will be facilitated from a reduction in doctor's hours.
