Abstract
This article provides an overview of a women and criminal justice course designed to integrate a prison book drive into course content to connect scholarship and activism. The service-learning project is designed from a feminist criminology perspective. It is set up with a series of empowering activities, including preplanning, orienting the students to the project, meaningful work, inclusion of academic readings, reflective journals, and in-class discussions. The project also includes feedback opportunities for both the student as well as the community being served.
