Abstract
This article provides a range of resources for individuals in the 55-to-75 age range who are seeking ways to regenerate and reinvent themselves for their Third Age bonus years. Descriptions and Web addresses are listed for national-, state-, and community-based organizations plus university-based research and policy centers and businesses that focus on the special interests and needs of individuals in the Third Age. Organizations such as Civic Ventures and the Massachusetts Coming of Age Coalition focus on tapping the talents and skills of older Americans by developing avenues for meaningful community service. The Elderhostel Institute Network is a resource for identifying Lifelong Learning Institutes, community-based organizations of retirement-age people dedicated to meeting the educational interests of its members. At the local level Discovering What’s Next: Re Vitalizing Retirement is a prototype of a community-based life options planning initiative.
