Chronic abdominal angina is relatively uncommon, and thus most surgeons have limited experience in recognizing and treating this malady. The authors report the case of a sixty-eight-year-old woman with severe atherosclerosis in all of the visceral arteries, resulting in abdominal pain and profound weight loss. Successful treatment included endarterectomy of the renal, celiac, and inferior mesenteric arteries and a Dacron bypass graft to the superior mesenteric artery.
