Role of Arteriography in the Management of Giant Cell Lesions of Bone

Abstract

Arteriography performed in 45 giant cell lesions of the bone has proved useful in the evaluation and enbloc resection at various sites. Arterial displace ment and exact assessment of the extension of the tumour have been observed in most of the cases. A biplane arteriogram gave a correct evaluation of the intra and extra osseous extent of the lesion and the positioning of the major feeding arteries, making the enbloc resection adequate and easy. The investigation has been of a great help in modifying the treatment and the surgical approaches.
