Significant hematemesis occurred in a patient who had undergone aorto bifemoral grafting: it was presumed to be due to aorto-duodenal fistula forma tion. At exploration an esophago-gastric mucosal tear was identified, with active arterial bleeding, and prompt control of the bleeding was obtained by suture ligature.
