Abstract
Twenty-four patients suffering from congenital arteriovenous fistulas were studied by means of angiography and Doppler ultrasound technique. Some common aspects were found in the ultrasound recording on the artery, vein, and fistula's area; typical findings can be analyzed and plotted by means of the sonographic test. Doppler probe was used during and after surgery as complementary to surgical angiography, due to its repeatibility and harm lessness. Doppler ultrasound technique may be very useful for periodical follow-ups which are essential in these patients because of the possibility of frequent recurrences.
