Retention of thromboangiitis obliter ans as a distinct clinical entity contin ues to have considerable value in the logical planning of treatment and long- term care of these patients. Throm boangiitis obliterans has a unique prog nosis and associated factors, especially tobacco consumption, are extremely important. It is hoped that further re search may delineate the pathogenesis of Buerger's disease so that patients can be properly educated and reas sured.
