In the area of childhood communication disorders, one of the most neglected areas is adolescent language disorders. While increasing attention is being directed toward adolescents in the literature, design of appropriate service delivery models in schools is still in its infancy. This article documents the need for language intervention programs for adolescents, especially as the need relates to classroom success. A delivery model presently in operation in the Polk County Schools (Floriola) is described. The emphasis of the model is on integration of language intervention within the middle or junior high school curriculum.
