Abstract
Jordan is experiencing restructured agro market environment, which is impacting small and medium farmers in the Badia, and competing with traditional strategies. The research purpose is to analyze strategies of small and medium farm producers in different agro commodities use to choose the production technology and the effect of such choice on farm performance and increase in producers’ household income. The study examined farm owners’ socioeconomic characteristics, farm capita and sources, production technology, and impact on increased household income. Research methods included field interviews and surveys with 95 small- and medium-scale producers from the Northern Badia area. Research findings indicated that use of production technology affect farm performance, which impacts household economy as it reflects on added household income. Governmental institutions and private sector should facilitate and monitor the implication of technologies that enhance inclusion of small producers in order to positively impact the livelihood of Badia producers.
