This paper presents sky luminosity categorisation data for Rio de Janeiro City, to be used in daylight design. The data are presented in monthly tables which correlate sunshine hours with the daily frequency of occurrence of one of five sky types. The results were derived from daily solar radiation and sunshine data for each day in a twelve-year period.
