Available information on integration of the lighting system with the heating or air-conditioning systems of a building, with particular reference to deep buildings, is reviewed. Design parameters are assessed and the interrelation between visual, thermal and aural parameters examined. Heat recovery systems are discussed. The detailed mechanism of the systems is excluded but the physical arrangements relative to the room itself are considered.
