The type of lighting adopted for any particular industrial building usually depends on a number of factors, including capital and operating costs, technical requirements and maintenance facilities.
Some of the problems involved are discussed in the four papers of this symposium. The papers were selected to illustrate the advantages of different lamps for particular applications. Although the papers have a common theme the treatment is individual.
