Lighting, in common with the other services, has been designed as an integral part of the rebuilt House of Commons. The installation in the Debating Chamber is particularly interesting since the artistic requirements have been given first consideration, new techniques being evolved where necessary to meet these requirements. Cold cathode, high voltage lamps are used in the laylight providing the main illumination, and the lighting can be raised smoothly from zero to full intensity.
