This paper briefly reviews some of the properties of metals which are of particular importance in the lighting industry and describes methods of shaping and finishing commonly used in current practice. Different kinds of protective treatment are discussed having regard both to resistance against corrosion and to maintenance of reflecting quality. Finally, some comparisons of performance are given for metal reflectors with various finishes and contours.
