Using focus group methods, we report that the main concerns of health care professionals working in care homes and in the domiciliary sector are as follows:
Poor communication with all other health care agencies, including hospital, primary care and mental services
The need for training, specifically in diabetes and dementia
Currently available e-learning was not found to be useful
