Abstract
The Chinese government proposed the Rural Vitalization Strategy on October 16th, 2022. There is a large-scale rural area facing massive energy-saving renovation in China. However, there are limited studies on the innovative research and practice on the energy-saving renovation of building floors, especially on ground floors. The researcher selected two Chinese rural houses of identical structure in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, a subtropical hot summer and warm winter region, to conduct comparison experiment, with one remaining the original state and the other renovated with foam glass plates on its floors, so as to assess the effectiveness of the energy-saving renovation. The researcher measured the air temperature of the floors of both houses in both winter and summer, and found that the average temperature of the floor with foam glass plate increased by 1.2°C in winter and decreased by 1.72°C in summer. The results indicate that laying foam glass plates on the floors could improve the heat-insulation performance of the ground floors enormously, which is of great importance to the energy-saving renovation of rural buildings. Moreover, in the background of Rural Vitalization, it is also of profound significance to enhancing the residential environment quality of rural house, reducing energy consumption, and supporting sustainable development.
