This paper investigates the reasons for the success of the UK market research industry, as perceived by the market research industry itself. The main body of the paper is based on findings from primary research of a qualitative nature using in-depth interviews with leading industry figures from a selection of the largest research companies in the UK. The exploratory nature of the research means that many areas for further investigation are suggested by the findings of this research.
