Abstract
Hedegaard’s (2005) article dealing with developmental and detrimental effects of coping behavior among Danish-Turkish students under pressure of opposing values and demands, and Schousboe’s (2005) article dealing with the effects of freedom imposed on students in Danish after-school centers are commented upon. Complex interactions between one’s behavior when coping with problems and others’ behavior when creating problems are discussed in the context of conflicts between people’s values, aims and strategies.
