Abstract
The discussion around critical methodologies has been a staple at Organization since its inception. However, we have increasingly felt the need for a dedicated space to unpack power while exploring critical alternatives in conducting and writing research. Such a space is conspicuously limited in other management and organization studies outlets, including ones dedicated to methodological debate. In this editorial, we discuss the continuing need to develop new critiques of traditional research, connect theory and practice, pioneer new (and revisiting old) critical ways of engaging with the field, promote different ways of writing about research methods, and interrogate issues of power in the research process. In doing so we introduce a new space in Organization, entitled Critical Methodologies, inviting authors to take up this challenge.
