The most recent international literature concerning the natural evolution of the hip in pediatric cerebral palsy has been reviewed by the Authors. Therefore a description of the surgical protocol used by them and other Authors for the prevention and treatment of hip luxation has been performed.
From the clinical data, a high incidence of subluxation in cerebral palsy has been pointed out. The importance of orthopaedic screening for this pathology has been underlined.
