We report a case of profunda femoris false aneurysm following internal fixation
of an intertrochanteric neck of femur fracture, caused by proximal migration of
a fracture fragment. The case is unique in that the mode of presentation was
that of deep venous thrombosis, due to extrinsic compression of the venous
system by the false aneurysm.
