Seven members of the same family suffering from Groenow I granular dystrophy and associated congenital cataracts have been studied.
Three patients had corneal dystrophy at various stages and trhee others had a fetal nuclear congenital cataract. A penetrating keratoplasty button was studied under light and electron microscopies. This association has not been described previously. However we must emphasize that there is no general validity for a correlation between granular dystrophy and congenital cataract.
