Abstract
There are two dimensions to the concept of “teaching ethics.” One dimension involves imparting a body of knowledge relative to ethical analysis. The second dimension focuses on motivating students to act ethically. Consistent with current thinking on human moral development, case studies provide an excellent method of instruction. A second technique which requires further investigation involves the analysis of how one spends time in relation to one's values. Finally, the success of teaching ethics must be measured in accordance with the objectives developed for a particular course and, again, with what is currently understood about moral development.
