The aim of this paper was to examine the growth in the body of literature in the
discipline of hospitality management for the 20-year period from 1967 to 1986. The
topics studied and the methodological approaches in the published articles were
examined using the content analysis technique. An analysis indicates information
gathering shifts in the topics studied, the method of research used, and the type
of authors of the published articles.
