Service robots are poised for enormous impact helping to achieve the U.N Sustainable Development goals as well as supporting older adults and young learners. This article briefly explores these application areas in three invited commentaries written by leading scholars and an industry entrepreneur, expressing their varied perspectives on the future of service robots. The article accompanies this Journal of Service Research special issue on human-robot interactions. In their commentaries, the authors share views on areas of personal interest ranging from global grand challenges to healthy aging and educational development. Included within each commentary are managerial insights and suggestions for needed research in the highlighted area.
