Abstract
It is not unusual for organizations to have growing pains, especially following a period of rapid growth. These growing pains may appear in the form of documentation errors that are now starting to impact adversely the finances of the organization. This article is designed for quality managers, directors of clinical services, or any staff member with quality improvement interests or responsibilities. This article will provide the reader with examples of common documentation errors and ways to help staff appreciate the importance of their documentation. Two teaching tools are provided, as well as suggestions regarding ways to reward employees for their efforts.
