This descriptive study was designed to help identify reactions and coping methods parents use while caring for chronically ill children at home. The parent perception inventory (PPI) was used quantitatively, and two open-ended questions were used qualitatively. Twenty-one parents were interviewed and the data were analyzed separately, and then comparisons were made for similarities, differences, and any possible associations using methodologic triangulation.
