Abstract
Professional boundaries are becoming a critical issue in today’s home health care arena. As a clinician, can a set of rules improve the quality of care that you are providing to the community? As a manager of a home health care agency, have you wondered how to bring meaning to a policy that exists in a file cabinet? Education on the concepts of virtue ethics, three guiding principles, and the zone of helpfulness can revitalize an otherwise dead policy and can be very beneficial for both clinicians and managers. Benefits include increased staff morale and renewed ethical motivation for clinicians to continually assess and enhance their professional behavior thus resulting in meaningful practice improvement.
