This autoethnography examines the role of a specific place—a library carrel—as a space within which to engage in ongoing conversations about the cultural importance of brevity, information quality, and connection and disconnection, among individuals and their machines. I hope this short article contributes to dialogues about knowledge production and consumption within the present-day cultural environment.
