Abstract
In the classroom, a teacher may ask for volunteers and find that it is always the same student raising his or her hand. Everybody else looks around, out the window, anywhere but at the teacher. Most kids don't like to get up in front of people and speak. If they have work they've prepared, they don't like to present it, although they don't seem to mind sitting in the audience and watching others talk.
