Abstract
Calcifying fibrous pseudotumor was recently described as a rare, distinctive, benign, fibrous lesion characterized by the presence of abundant hyalinized collagen with psammomatous or dystrophic calcification and a lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate. The lesions reported to date in the literature involved subcutaneous and deep soft tissues of the extremities, trunk, scrotum, groin, neck, and axilla of children and young adults. Four cases in which the lesion arose intraabdominally in elderly patients are reported. This report expands the age spectrum and anatomic topography of this lesion.
