Abstract
John, a very articulate 48-year-old Vietnam veteran, completes successful psychotherapy in 1 1/2 years. The hallmarks of this therapy are the use of social constructionist ideas and practices, especially the use of the reflecting team and the influence of the team's conversations on everyone who participated. John also challenges his difficult problems by continued commitment to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)practices, by journaling, and with the hope that he can assist his intern/therapist to learn how to do therapy well. Although this was a challenge as the intern'sfirst case, the developing supervision, consultation, and teamwork during the 1 1/2 years were inspirational to the client, therapist, and team.
