Limited attention has been given to the development of didactic and instructional courses addressing the needs of students. The challenges facing family counseling training programs are discussed. A model for a didactic-experiential course created by) the authors is reviewed, and anecdotal, evaluative feedback given by former students is presented. Recommendations and suggestions are offered regarding the training of family counselors.
