Purpose: The present study examined the influence of executive function on design thinking of tribal and non-tribal adolescents of Odisha, a state of India, along with the differences among the tribal and non-tribal adolescents concerning executive function and design thinking. Methods: A descriptive survey design was used to compare the relationship between executive function and design thinking of tribal and non-tribal adolescents of senior secondary schools. This study involved 668 senior secondary school adolescents as participants. Findings: The results of the study revealed a significant positive relationship between executive function and design thinking of both the tribal and non-tribal adolescents and the design thinking of adolescents is also significantly predicted by their executive function. Further, the findings revealed that tribal and non-tribal adolescents differ significantly in executive function and design thinking skills. Originality: The article explained the impact of executive function on design thinking of tribal and non-tribal adolescents which is the unique feature of this research work. Further, two tools have been standardized, that is, on executive function and design thinking, that is, the unique contribution to the field of academics.
