Abstract
The Triad Training Model is designed to make explicit a client's positive and negative internal dialogue through direct and immediate feedback in simulated counseling interviews. The counselor trainee is presented with an explicit verbal exchange with the client, the counselor's own implicit internal dialogue, and positive/negative messages of the client's internal dialogue through feedback from the anticounselor and procounselor. The theoretical basis for the Triad Training Model is discussed and supporting research is presented. The specific functions of a procounselor and anticounselor are outlined for persons seeking to use the Triad Training Model.
