Abstract
Variability and changing pathophysiological factors make each newborn surgical patient unique and necessitate that management be individualized and flexible. Because the outcome depends on the type of disease and time of presentation, early diagnosis followed by prompt customized care should be provided.
This article emphasizes the management of a surgical neonate and covers in addition to preoperative and intraoperative care, the optimal surgical care for individual surgical entities along with post operative care.
