Social Change among the Korchas of Chitradurga District of Karnataka State

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to know the change that has taken place among the Korcha of Chitradurga district over a period of time. An intensive fieldwork was conducted among the Korcha who have separate habitats of their own in different localities of Chitradurga Town for a period of four months giving sufficient attention to several parameters like age, sex and experience. The information was collected through participant observation, interview method and to some extent the case study method also. The data collected was thoroughly cross checked to know the depth and dimensions of Korcha community holistically.
