Abstract

A significant health problem affecting thousands of people worldwide is end-stage renal disease (ESRD). ESRD is a serious and life-threatening condition that requires ongoing treatment, such as dialysis or kidney transplantation, to replace the lost kidney function. The study was carried out with the objective of analysing the treatment cost of ESRD patients who underwent live donor kidney transplantation (LDKT) at Medanta—The Medicity in India. Kidney transplantation has shown significant benefits in enhancing a patient’s quality of life and extending their lifespan. The treatment cost-related data were collected from electronic hospital records. The study found that LDKT is an effective treatment for ESRD patients, providing improved quality of life and increased life expectancy.
