Abstract
As evidenced by a large volume of data over the past two decades, social variables are crucial in impacting health across various health indicators, geographies and populations. There is an urgent need to address the role that social determinants of health (SDH) play in health inequalities around the world. However, many academics believe that research on SDH needs substantial evolution and modifications to discover more significant difficulties, even though this topic has been studied from theoretical and practical perspectives. The scientific literature on SDH is crucial when it comes to understanding health disparities and their root causes. There is a dire need for an SDH bibliometric study because there is a lack of comprehensive research on the topic. This study analyses several parameters, such as nation, author, publication venue (including language), publication year, research funding sources, content type (including subject) and more, to better understand the research concerning SDH over the last two decades.
