Abstract
The primary source of environmental deterioration is the economy’s rapid growth and global behaviour consumer demand and behaviour patterns. As more people become aware of how important it is to preserve the environment, consumers are beginning to show a clear preference for green items. This study aims to highlight the key themes and strengths of green studies in underdeveloped countries and provide recommendations for future research. This study looks at a sample of 162 papers from the Scopus database using a bibliometric approach to uncover green studies research activity between 2011 and 2022. This study identifies the most important sources and authors based on their citations, publications and prominence within the network. Further, it also looks at current issues, identifies literature limitations and offers further investigation directions. Although international research is in this field, there must be more cross-national cooperation between writers from developed and underdeveloped nations.
