Abstract
The Second Sino-Japanese War was intricately linked to the international situation of the time. A significant aspect of this involvement was the third country's attempts to mediate the conflict. Especially after the outbreak of World War II, international efforts to mediate the war between China and Japan became more vigorous than ever. This article aims to provide a preliminary examination of international mediation efforts from the outbreak of World War II to the conclusion of the Tripartite Pact. This analysis will shed light on the major powers’ attitudes toward the Sino-Japanese War and the state of international relations in East Asia.
