1 Lazaroid (U74500A), a 21-aminosteroid antioxidant, was administered to rats at a dose of 10 mg kg-1 in an attempt to reduce the toxicity of cisplatin (5 mg kg -1).
2 No protective effect was apparent under the schedule used and, in contrast to other antioxidants and free-radical scavengers, U74500A offers no potential benefit in cisplatin treatment.
