Abstract

The basis and development of the glare system now adopted in several European countries are described. From the original Söllner curves, which gave a means for evaluating glare in interior lighting installations, a glare limiting system which can be applied more readily in practice has been developed. The procedure for estimating the glare rating value of an installation and comparing it with the limits adopted is given. The method is intended for use in working interiors only.
