Abstract

The authors contacted the Journal requesting to correct two figures in the article: 1. The authors requested to replace the western blot images in Figure 3. The authors stated that instead of using the correct TLR-4 western blot image, they had inadvertently reused the western blot image for NRF2 in Figure 2. 2. The authors requested to update the vertical axis of Figure 5 to replace the word “iNOS” with “Caspase-3”.
The authors’ request raised concerns about the validity of the findings. Sage requested the uncropped raw images for Figures 2, 3, and 5.
The authors were unable to provide the uncropped raw images underlying these figure panels.
Due to the unresolved concerns about the image integrity that call into question the validity of the findings the Journal Editor and Sage retract the article.
Prior to the retraction, the author-initiated correction was published in error while the article was being investigated for the aforementioned concerns.
The authors did not agree with the decision to retract when informed.
