Abstract

At the request of the Journal Editor and Sage Publishing, the following article has been retracted:
Hasanvand A, Hosseinzadeh A, Saeedavi M, Goudarzi M, Basir Z, Mehrzadi S. Neuroprotective effects of tannic acid against kainic acid-induced seizures in mice. Human & Experimental Toxicology. 2022;41. doi: 10.1177/09603271221093989
The Journal Editors of Human & Experimental Toxicology were contacted by a reader who had concerns regarding Figure 6A:
Fig 6A KA panel contains features and fields of view highly similar to the KA + TA 25 panel.
When we contacted the authors for comment, they explained that this duplication was due to an error of communication between the pathologist and the author team leading to microscopy images being labeled and inserted incorrectly in the article.
The authors provided the images underlying these figures for assessment which also contain the duplicate field of view and features. As these images should represent distinct experimental conditions in distinct animals, Sage is unable to validate the integrity of the research conducted.
This article has been retracted due to the nature of the original concern, uncertainty around the integrity of the original images that call into question the validity of the findings.
The authors did not reply for comment when notified of this retraction.
